Sensible Footwear
Many of my patients are unaware of the importance of sensible footware.
Incorrect, ill fitting shoes can cause many issues. One of my pet hates is flip-flops that result in gripping of the toes. This can lead to friction and possible callous and corn formation.
Wearing good fitting shoes that have plenty of room in the toe box area and stabilising the foot (with laces or Velcro) reduces friction. Wearing shoes that have no stitching and wearing seamless socks both reduce rubbing on the feet.
I would particularly recommend the seamless Carnation Silver sock and Bamboo socks, which are great for foot hygiene and diabetics.
